School Workshops

Encouraging our Pasifika youth to pursue a career in law

Our goals are to work alongside the next generation of Pasifika students and encourage them to pursue law. By doing so, we hope to empower and equip them to create change in our communities by shaping policies and advocating for our people.

Our target audience are decile 1-5 schools, however we are not limited to this and are very open to making realistic compromises.

Our schools branch offers two pathways;

  1. One-off sessions: These sessions include setting up stalls at career expos, skills and advice workshops, mini-debate sessions or adapting to cater to the needs of the school.

  2. The Malosi Mooting Competition: Initiated in 2019 by Sophie Gallaghar and Fereti Ne’emia two of our senior ambassadors. This programme was successfully introduced last year with Tangaroa College and Avondale College. This initiative involves consecutive sessions where our current law students go into the schools across a span of 5-6 weeks to teach what a moot is, develop the skills with the students to understand, learn and present in a moot situation against their fellow peers or another school. This provides the students with a more substantive view of law school and the opportunities they might come across.
